Your first appointment with me is the consultation and examination. You should allow between 45 minutes and an hour for this appointment. You should plan to arrive 10 minutes before this first appointment to complete a questionnaire and some paperwork with the clinic receptionist.
In your consultation my first aim is to assess your condition and reach a diagnosis. I’ll ask you several questions during a thorough history and note-taking session. You will then undergo an appropriate postural, neurological, orthopaedic and chiropractic examination to discover what is causing your pain or problem.

Some of these problems originate from a joint, a muscle or other soft tissues structures such as tendons or ligaments. I’ll always be as accurate as possible when making a diagnosis so that the proposed care plan is specifically tailored to your needs.
X-Rays at Our Eastbourne Clinic
I’ll talk to you about X-Ray or any other diagnostic tests if they’re needed for you. Most people don’t need x-rays, but at our clinic we have an excellent digital x-ray system here on site to save any delay.
Report of Findings
After your consultation, I will go through my findings to determine a working diagnosis.
I’ll then report my findings back to you, share my diagnosis and recommend the number and frequency of treatments that I feel will be required to remedy the problem. Your care plan will be based on my experience of treating other people with the same or similar condition/s, current research available and my clinical skills but the treatment itself will be tailored to you as an individual. This means that the techniques I choose and the pressure I use will be suitable for you personally and consider all the information I gathered in the history-taking and neurological and orthopaedic testing. I regularly write to local GPs to keep them up to date with any treatment I am providing to their registered patients.
Sometimes, albeit rarely, I decided that chiropractic care may not be an appropriate treatment. If I believe I cannot help you, I will refer you to another health professional such as your GP and can write to them outlining the examination that has taken place and my reasons for the referral.
I use a chiropractic technique called Diversified technique. This is one of the most widely used techniques within the chiropractic profession globally. This means that I use manual techniques to very quickly and gently move any restricted joints in your spine or even elsewhere in your body.
I also have a plethora of soft tissue techniques that I like to use (including dry needling) that, when required, can complement the chiropractic adjustments and ensure you get the best possible response.
When I feel it is appropriate and required, I will often incorporate rehabilitation exercises and stretches so that you can start to take charge if your spinal health at home as well as under my care.
During the course of any care plan, I am constantly reviewing your progress, whether your symptoms are improving and whether your function is returning to normal.
